Living Above the Frost Line is a dwelling place for practicing poets. It is the home of poet, Nancy Simpson. Above the Frost Line we give ourselves some extra growing time. Yes, we know the hard freeze will come, but until it arrives, we shall grow and share our poems.

I know these poems well, and I feel the excitement in the air knowing her book, NOW MIGHT AS WELL BE THEN, will soon be in my hands. All of us who know Glenda as our NC Writers Network Program Coordinator, are placing our orders now. It is a bitter sweet time for Glenda, as she is caring for her life mate and husband Barry Beall, the subject of a number of her poems, who is seriously ill.
"I asked for an early release of the book for Barry," Glenda wrote to me, "and I wonder if he will ever see the finished book."

I'm looking forward to Glenda's book too and just ordered extra copies to give as gifts. It's nice of you to promote it on your blog.
Thank you, Nancy, for announcing my book release. As you know I've not had time to let anyone know about it, but in a few weeks I'll be able to send out announcements.
Aug 28, I believe is the last day for the advance sale with one dollar shipping cost.
Early sales are important to the printing volume by Finishing Line Press. They base the printing on how many advance orders they receive.
Thank you and your readers.
Glenda
Hello Glenda, I was happy to announce your book. I can't wait to get my own copy of it. I received a post card from the press, so maybe they are already sending out the announcements. Postmark was Kentucky.
Several poeple told me they had ordered your book and some said they ordered extra gift copies.
Having read the book as individual poems over the years since you began writing and having read it in manuscript form, I recommend NOW MIGHT AS WELL BE NOW as a book for these people:
All who love the mountains backdrop.
All who like poetry collections that tell a story, in this case a story of a southern woman, growing up on a farm, who deeply loves one man, Also a woman who values life and the lessons it teaches.
All couples who like to read poems aloud together.
All who read poetry to learn how to write poems, for yours are filled with images, driven by emotion, masterful at simultaneity.
Best wishes with your publication. One day or one evening, we will celebrate your accomplishment.
