I can't believe you still have flowers! Your photos are lovely, Nancy.

Hi Joan, It is amazing to me too. Almost every leaf has fallen from the trees, but On Nov.15,2009, some flowers are still blooming: Knock Out Roses, May Night Salvia, Nasturtiums, Gloriosa Daisy, New Guinea Impatience. Above the frost line, we get a bit of an extended growing time. I take it as a personal gift and wonder why I am so blessed. Old timers have told us many times to plant apples. I wish we had done so when we were young. I'm not misled into believing this can hold, but until the hard freeze comes, I am going to enjoy every single day. Today has been extra pretty.

And who is the wonderful and mysterious shadow person in the pictures?

Hello Karen, Let's talk one of these days soon.

Meanwhile, all I can say is that the photos are not trick photography. I lifted the camera and clicked. It could only be my shadow. It was spooky, given the particlar time and problems of the day, but I took it as a serious message to me to stop feeling sorry for myself and to turn myself around and start moving forward again. Each day get a bit easier.

November 18 - there are still some flowers blooming.
