- Nancy Simpson is the author of ACROSS WATER, a chapbook and NIGHT STUDENT, a full length poetry collection, published at State Street Press. Both are out of print but are available on WWW at Book Finder.com, Amazon.com, Alibris and Books Again. Her poems have been published in The Georgia Review, Southern Poetry Review, Prairie Schooner and other literary magazines. Most recently her poem, "Grass" was reprinted in the 50th Anniversary Issue of Southern Poetry Review: DON'T GO AWAY HUNGRY (2009 University of Arkansas Press) with an introduction by Billy Collins. Simpson has seven poems in the textbook, SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN POETRY, edited by Marita Garin (McFarland) and a new poem, "Carolina Bluebirds" is included in THE POETS GUIDE TO THE BIRDS, edited by Judith Kitchen and Ted Kooser (2009, Anhinga Press). Nancy Simpson teaches poetry writing classes at Institute of Continued Learning, Young Harris College and at John C. Campbell Folk School where she serves as Resident Writer.
